The answer to this is ‘Yes and No’. Synergy can run on a Mac in a PC emulator, a virtual machine running Windows, or if you boot the Mac into Windows directly, or if you use remote access to use Synergy on a PC from your Mac. However, it is not a native Mac application.
Synergy has been built from the start to have the potential for cross-platform operation, but we need to have enough demand from paying Mac users for a dedicated Mac version for us to be able to invest the considerable amount of money it would cost to bring a Mac version online.
So far, that demand has not been present and so Synergy remains a Windows product that runs on Windows PCs or on Macs with the aid of emulators or virtual machines. If you want to be able to use Synergy on a Mac, and can bring enough users or money to the table to allow us to employ the necessary specialist staff to provide a Mac specific version, please contact us as we would be delighted to discuss the possibilities.
